Welcome to the Grand Ledge Farmer’s Market
Every Saturday (June 13 – October 24) Vegetables, fruits, crafts, and so much more! |
The Grand Ledge Farmer’s Market announces its first annual Cherry Festival on Saturday August 1st from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The market will be bursting with fresh Michigan Cherries as well as special events, contests, recipes, and fun for all. This event will coincide with the regular Farmers Market at the Maypole Park (Bridge Street) in Downtown Grand Ledge.
There will be two Cherry Wine-Making Demonstrations presented by Karl Glarner Jr. of the Red Salamander, at both 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. If you’ve ever wanted to stomp wine the old fashion way bring your feet down to the market and stomp some 100% Michigan-Grown Cherries. Then stick around as Karl demonstrates how to produce homemade wine from fresh Michigan Produce.
Make sure you perfect your Cherry Pie Recipe for Saturday as well. The market will host a Cherry Pie Banking contest that will take place at noon. Fresh-made pies will be judged by local dignitaries with prizes for the winners. Call 517.643.1849 or email info@glfarm.org if you’d like to participate.
There will also be a seed spitting contest for the kids…or the “kids” in all of us. The contest will be held throughout the Market from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be contests for both accuracy and distance.
There will also be plenty of other fresh local produce, baked goods, plants, syrup, honey, eggs and other local goods, so be sure to bring the family and enjoy the First Annual Grand Ledge Cherry Festival at the Grand Ledge Farmers Market on Saturday August 1st from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
If you have any questions about the market or are interested in being a vendor at the Market contact Terrrance at 517.643.1849 or info@glfarm.org, or visit our website at www.glfarm.org.
